New to the club? Here's what you can do...

First off, welcome to The 405 Club! For our first-time users, we have assembled a short list of ways you can immediately get involved in our site.

1. Complete your profile page! If you haven't already, take a few minutes to answer all of the questions in your profile. Just as you might be interested in reading the stories of other 405ers, those 405ers are interested in your story as well!
2. Explore member profiles! Look through all the profiles in the club and read about your fellow 405ers.
3. Comment on a blog post! We have a wide variety of blog entries, from the jobless, career coaches and other experts. Read entries from all of them, and add your two cents into the discussion. Ready for more? If you're interested in becoming a contributing writer on the405club.com contact us!
4. Post to a forum! See what the newest threads in our forums are discussing and see what everyone is saying. Then, simply add your thoughts to the thread for the next users to read.
5. Show us your life! By adding photos and videos, you can share with the community a bit more about who you are. Great ideas for these include images of our events or video resumes!
6. Join a group! You can represent your state, your industry, contact career coaches or even connect with fellow golfers!
7. Browse our Featured Series list. Here you'll find some of the very best content The 405 Club has to offer. For example, our Ask HR feature gives you full access to a Fortune 500 Director of HR -- ask him anything! View past Ask HR submissions here.

Thanks again for visiting the club. If you haven't done so yet, join now here. Enjoy The 405 Club!

That Puddle's a Doozy

What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was
exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered? It really could
happen. Just ask an unemployed person.

When you don't have a
boss to report to or clients to please, your life begins to feel

Now if you really didn’t want to go to work you wouldn’t and perhaps you don’t like your job but you certainly like what it brings you. You might like to show some appreciation for the fact that the position is helping you to pay your mortgage, support your family, educate your children or take you to ex… Continue

The Power of Networking

Hello, my name is Alex Charles Elie, aka ACE, and welcome to my first blog. I’m 46 years old and I’ve been through a lot in my life. I’ve always wanted to write a book about my many experiences, figuring someone could learn something from my successes, failures and everything in between. I’ve started a few times and I have stories here and there and I decided to start compiling them in a blog so I could get feedback and see if anyone would be interested in what I had to say, so here goes nothing… Continue
